Mabruk started to play music when he was just seven years old, and he played different instruments like saxophone, clarinet and others, in a music band and in an orquestra later. Then he joined a strings group where he was playing mandoline, lute and guitar.

Later on, he and other friends founded a modern music group where mabruk was playing electric bass and lead guitar for several years. Then he joined the Conservatory of Music in Córdoba (Spain) at the age of 15, where he was studying classical guitar, harmony and composition until finishing his studies by winning the first prize final award for his interpretation of J.S. Bach Suite in A major.

After and during his studies in the Conservatory, mabruk was playing guitar concerts in different Spanish Auditorioums and Music Conservatories; in Córdoba, Jaén, Madrid, Alicante, etc., performing music from J.S. Bach, Dowland, Albeniz, Turina, Tárrega, F. Sor, Baden Powell, S. Bacarisse, etc.

Now at Besonic, mabruk has also reached a great success in the whole World, mostly with his own compositions and arrangements as some of the following links will show:

Song Feature for "Dancing with you"

Song Feature for "Retrato Brasileiro"

This first piece is an arrangement that mabruk made for guitar from a nice piano composition written by a contemporary and mexican author called Ernesto Cortazar. He tried to express the original feeling of this song, Blue Waters , using the more limited but intimate resources of the guitar. The title evokes a romantic and gentle melody playing with the arpeggios of a peaceful harmony.

This performance is another piece that he loves and plays with his guitar. It is not sure if this piece was written by Baden Powell, one of his favorite guitarists, or by Heitor Villa-Lobos. Both fron Brazil. Anyway it reflects very nicely, as a Retrato Brasileiro , those deep and strong feelings of the brazilian people. He discovered the enormous message inside and decided to play and offer it to all his friends.

This other piece is dedicated to the memory of Baden Powell, one of the guitarist that most influenced mabruk since he was very young. This is a classical jazz and popular song written by Johnny Mandel for the film "The Sandpiper" and that was played by a lot of musicians: The shadow of your smile

He also made an arrangement for guitar of Gabriel Faure's tender Barcarolle in A Minor, in which he shows a beautiful way of combining binary and ternary rhythmic structures, together with some bright impressionist touches.

This following one is a personal arrangement that mabruk made from one of the most beautiful musical pages ever written. He never played it before but it came to his mind without even knowing what it was. Later he realised that it was the Schubert's Serenade.

As a composer, mabruk is also an interesting one as can be seen by the following piece, Dancing with you, which shows influences from different musical styles, mostly jazz and classical.

Or this other inspired one, Leaves in the Wind, which could be considered the one representing the most inner feelings of the composer.
